Cap Details

This hat is of the post 1955 period. It is a US Army, Dress Blue Color, Peaked Service Cap. This hat is named inside to a Dentist named Lieutenant Colonel Matthews. It is also marked that he served in "U.S.A. DENTAC", which we believe is the Army's Dental Command. This hat is in MINT condition.

Medical items are not our specialty, but we could not resist acquiring this Field Grade Officer's Peaked Service Cap due to it's rarity. The Dental branch of the service is very small, and finding any item identified to that branch is also very rare-thus we acquired it for you. Most collections never have a Dental branch item of any type, no less as nice as a Field Grade Officer's high ranking hat, in their collections. And what makes this rare item even more sweet is that it is both named, and unit identified. What fun it would be to research the biographical career information on this high ranking Army Dentist. Who knows, if you are lucky enough to find him, he just might give you a free-be tooth job! Priced right for all those hat collectors out there.
