Comments from the Curator: (on both uniforms)

(These uniforms are being sold as a 2 piece set)
All US Army General's uniforms are very vaulable today, and sell at substantial prices. They command even higher prices if they are attributed (i.e.: "named/identified"). Prices increase if the General has World War II service, and increases again if it is World War II combat service. Another coast excallator is if the General served in a desirable branch of the service such as in the Tank Corps., Cavalry, Airborne, Rangers, etc. These two uniforms are named to Major General "Peebles". It is one of a two uniform grouping obtained from his estate decendents. Currently Peebles biographical history is being researched. However, the early dating found on this uniform in relation to his high rank and many World War II period combat award ribbons/insignia - plus his "Airborne," "Parachutist," and "Glider" badges, greatly increase the value of these two uniforms.
