1973 dated, Vietnam Conflict Period, US Navy, "Uniform, Women's,
Service, White," belonging to a WAVE
Uniform Details
This uniform is dated 1973 inside. It is of the Vietnam Conflict Period. It is a US Navy, "Uniform, Women's, Service,
White, 65% Ployester, 35% Rayon." This WAVE woman's uniform is in excellent to MINT condition. It is also in an unbelievable
un-issued unworn condition too. The jacket cuffs are long and unhemmed. The skirt is also long and unhemmed too and even has
the factory cutter's tag still attached. The uniform also includes an unopened manila envelope on a string which when opened
probably contains some hemming trim. The jacket is a size 11 R. The matching skirt is also dated 1973. It has the exact
same tag as in the jacket, including the size designation. This is very unusual as the normal practice is for each garment to have it's
own individualized tag and designation. The buttons on the woman's jacket are of the removable, large size style.
Comments from the Curator:
Vietnam Confilct period uniforms are increasing in popularity and price each day. Female uniforms it should be noted are much
more rare than most male types. This stunning, white uniform, is impossible to improve upon. Un-issued examples such as this
are all but impossible to find. An experienced and knowledgeable collector would know the great significance and value of this
uniform's dating, condition, and female classification. Here is a chance to obtain a true rarity at a very reasonable cost.
