1960's Vietnam Conflict Period, US Amry, WAC, Woman's, "Coat,
Woman's, Polyester/Cotton Corded, AG No. 160," belonging to a Specialist 4, named "Perkins"
Uniform Details
This uniform dates from the 1960's to the early 1970's Vietnam Conflict Period. It is a US Army, "Coat, Woman's, Ployester/Cotton
Corded, AG No. 160." The matching skirt is dated 1972 and is in the Vietnam Conflict Period as well. The skirt is a "Skirt,
Wmn's, Poly/Ctn Corded Green Shade No. 160." The jacket is a period size 20 Regular (a desirable larger size), and the skirt
is also a period 20 Regular (again - a desirable size). This uniform belonged to a WAC, woman named "Perkins" as evidenced
by the still existing plastic name tag pinned to the breast. Each cuff has the rank patches of a Specialist 4, which is a "E-4", or a
Corporal. The condition of the jacket is excellent to MINT! condition, and the matching skirt is also excellent with only one rear
waist band stain which is almost un-noticable. Also included is a 1973 dated, "Cap, Garrison, Wmn's, Poly/Ctn., Green & White"
which has a unique gold and black enamel "E-4" pin attached. The hat is in very good condition with only 1 small top seam
snag which is not detracting.
Comments from the Curator:
Vietnam Conflict Period uniforms are fast increasing in popularity and price. WAC Woman's uniforms are very rare compared to their similar
male counterparts. This uniform is of the exact type worn in Vietnam itself as it is a hot weather style of a uniform. A neat
factor of this uniform is that it is named, and that all 3 pieces are of the same matching larger size range all belonging to the same
WAC woman. Larger sized uniforms are always very much in demand by those who wish to wear them today for reenacting and/or
play. This is a very nice grouping at a reasonable price for all.
