Museum added M1940 Model Police Helmet, with liner, chin strap, and both decales. Helmet is the rare straight cut style.
Fischer was born in April of 1889. By November of 1940 his rank was as a SS-Standartenfuhrer (i.e.: a SS Colonel). He
served in the SS-Personal Hauptamt (i.e.: the SS Personnel Main Office). At the same time he held the additional rank of Oberst
der Scherheits Polizei (i.e.: a Police Colonel in the SS Secret Police). By January of 1944 Fischer became a SS-Brigadefuhrer
und Generalmajor der Polizei (i.e.: a SS-Brigadier General and a Police Major General, which is a 1 Star General). At that
time Fischer served in Hauptamt Ordungs Polizei (i.e.: in the Police Main Office). His position was a Inspekteur Waffen und
Gerate (i.e.: a Inspector General for Weapons and Equipment). This white leather, whiter coat was constructed out of leather
scraps to facilitate both fast and cheap construction and issue to the troops. Sewn near the top of the left shoulder is a rectangular
shape cloth patch indicating that this coat belonged to a SS-Brigadefuhrer. This coat has the last three digits of General Fischer's
serial number inked inside of it "SS (313) 994". Records indicate that General Fischer had been awarded these awards and medals
among some others:
The Iron Cross, 1st Class
Condition is Good/Plus. Leather coat shows many period
repairs as is common on these style coats. Also these coats were made out of small leather scraps which were, often mis-matched.
The "Holy Grail" of General's uniforms is to be fortunate enough to obtain one from the infamous German SS. Very few collectors
have ever seen one no less owned one. They almost never appear on the market for sale. Here is a rare chance to obtain
not only an unbelievebly rare SS General's uniform, but one which is named/identified by his General's
insignia and serial number. The rank insignia and serial number confirm that this uniform jacket
belonged to SS-Brigadefuhrer Und Generalmajor Der Polizei "Karl Fischer". Being a name/identified SS General's uniform
jacket is quite enough to justify the very understated asking price. However if the educated reader is savvy enough to have
noticed on his biographical history sheet; SS General Fischer had also at one time commanded a "Sicherheits Polizei", or dreaded
"Secret Police" unit as well. That fact alone should greatly increase the value beyond the asking price.
