Post WWII period, US Red/White/Black color, Bandsman's Uniform
for a Town/School named: "Plainview," that belonged to a boy named: "Steve Smalley"
Uniform Details
This civilian child's Bandsman's uniform dates after the WWII period, and probably does not date later than the early 1970's.
This red/white/and black color uniform is of US origin, and is of a size produced for a young boy. The name of the town or
school to which this boy was assigned is called: "Plainview". This town or school is believed to be in Texas. It is known
for sure that this uniform is not for the Plainview, Long Island, New York school district. This uniform is named on the inside
to a boy named: "Steve Smalley". Included with this child's uniform is a matching pair of red and white color trousers. The
uniform is in very good to excellent condition. One button is missing. Experienced uniform collectors realize that there is
more to collecting uniforms than limiting oneself to just one particular nation or time period. Knowledgeable collectors don't
overlook those many other uniforms worn in society. Band uniforms such as this are often disdained, and for no good reason
too. They are very rare due to their very low production quantities, and are usually much more imagnitive and colorful than any
military issue garments. For comparison the great prices of 1840's to 1890's period similar looking US civilian militia uniforms realized today make
these modern type uniforms a great investment.
