Uniform Details

  • 2000 dated, US Army Green Uniform, belonging to an Artillery, Specialist 4 named: "Hart", serving in the 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, of the 1st Cavalry Division

  • This uniform is dated 2000. It is a US Army, "Coat, Man's, Poly/Wool Serge, AG 489", or "Coat, Man's, Army Green". This uniform belonged to a Artillery, Specialist 4 in rank named: "Hart", as is evidenced by the round shape, bright brass color metal, Artillery branch insignia found pinned to the upper left collar lapel, and by the cloth rank rank patch found sewn in the middle of each sleeve and his plastic name tag. Sewn near the top of the left sleeve is a large shield shape cloth patch indicating current service in the 1st Cavalry Division. Each shoulder epaulette has a metal D.I. insignia pin which indicates service in the 82nd Field Artillery Regiment. This soldier has 3 award ribbons that are found pinned above his top right breast pocket flap which are for the awards of: the "Presidential Unit Citation", the "Valorous Unit Award", and the "Meritorious Unit Commendation". This soldier also wears 7 more awards/medals found above and on his left breat pocket which are for: the "Army Achievement Medal with 1 Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster", the "Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal", the "Army Service Ribbon", the "NATO Medal", and the hanging, silver color medals are for: the "Driver and Mechanic Badge, for Driver-Tracked (Vehicle)", the "Expert Basic Qualification Badge, for Gunnery and Marksmanship, for the M-203 Grenade Launcher", and finally the award of the "Marksman, 2nd Class Gunner Badge, for the Rifle". This uniform came with a pair of 1999 dated, "Trousers, Men's, Poly/Wool, Serge, Army Green, AG-489", a 1996 dated, "Shirt, Man's, Long Sleeve, AG-415", a black color tie, and a 1997 dated, "Cap, Garrison, Men's, P/W, Serge, AG-489, Class 4", and which in this case has a D.I. insignia pin on the side curtain for service in the 82nd Field Artillery Battalion. The condition of this grouping is MINT. While not an old uniform grouping per se, this particular grouping is very complete and beautiful. The award ribbons confirm that this soldier was a Combat Cavalryman serving in 1991 in "Operation Desert Shield/Storm", making it quite collectible thus the price asked. NOTE: The name of "Hart" is un-sure. When this uniform was obtained it came with 2 other uniforms and they all came together with a box of several name tags, making a perfect match a guess at best.
