Uniform Details
1964 dated, Vietnam Conflict Period, US Army Green Uniform, belonging to a Infantry, Private (or "E-2"), named:
"Jones", serving in the 26th "Yankee" Infantry Division
This uniform is dated 1964 inside. It is a US Army, "Coat, Man's, Wool Serge, AG-44, Class 3 E.M.", or Army Green Uniform.
This uniform belonged to an Infantry, Private (or "E-2"), named: "Jones", as is evidenced by the high quality brass and blue
plastic Infantry branch collar insignia, and by the cloth rank stripe insignia found sewn to each sleeve, and lastly by his
plastic name tag found on his right breast. This Private served in the 26th "Yankee" Infantry Division as is evidenced by the diamond
shape cloth patch found sewn near the top of his left sleeve. He also wears a former service cloth patch for the 27th New York
Army National Guard, "Empire" Armored Division, on his upper right sleeve. The single ribbon bar on his left breast is unidentified
as of now. The blue cord is called an Infantry Blue Lanyard and indicates the award of a Expert Rifleman's Badge or a Combat
Infantryman's Badge. The jacket shows evidence of other awards and D.I.'s once being present. This uniform includes his black
color tie, his 1960 dated "Trousers, Men's Wool Serge, Army Green 44, Class 3," and a Museum added khaki color "Shirt,
Man's, CTN. Poplin, Tan 46." The condition of this grouping is MINT! (except for the shirt which has a shoulder stain). Note:
The name of "Jones" is un-sure. When this uniform was obtained it was obtained with 2 other uniforms and they all
came together with a box of several name tags, making a perfect match a guess at best.
