Uniform dated 1963.
U.S. Army, "Shirt, Man's, Cotton Santeen, Olive Green,
Army Shade 107, Type 1, Class 1".
Belonged to a Military Police Major General
(i.e.: a 2 Star General),
named: "Lloyd Brinkley Ramsey".

Ramsey was born in 1918.
Graduated college in 1940, and became a 2nd Lieutenant of Infantry that same year.
1940 served in the 10th Infantry, then in the 39th Infantry Regiment of the 9th Infantry Division. He remained in the 39th Infantry until February, 1943 when the regiment was in North Africa, that February he became Aide-de-camp to British General Alexander in North Africa.
By late 1943 was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division serving in many posts including Battalion Commander, Regimental Executive Officer, and Divisional G-3.
In 1946 was Infantry Instructor at the Infantry School.
Attended the Command and General Staff College
and also took a psychology course at Yale University.
In 1953 attended the Army War College.
1954 served as Deputy, and later Secretary of the Joint Chiefs Of Staff
of the U.N. Command and Far East Command.
From 1957-58 Commanding Officer, 2nd Battle Group, 14th Infantry Regiment,
then moved on to command the 1st Infantry Brigade.
From 1958-59 was Asst. Chief Of Staff, G-1, U.S. Army Infantry School in Georgia.

1959-60 was Chief Senate Liaison Branch, the Chief Of Congressional Liaison Branch.
Became the Executive Officer, Office Asst. Chief Of Staff For Development from 63-64.
From 1964-66 Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Army Training Center
at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
From 1966-67 Deputy Cheif Of Information in D.C.
From 1967-68 Chief Of Staff f the 3rd Army in Georgia.
Then from 1968-69 Deputy Commanding General, H.Q.,
1st Logistical Command in Vietnam.
Commanding General of the 23rd "Americal" Infantry Division in Vietnam between 1969 and 1970.
Provost Marshall General, U.S. Army, Washington D.C. from 1970-74.
He retired in 1974.

General Ramsey was awarded many medals and awards during his long military career including an amazing 17 Oak Leaf Clusters to his award of the Air Medal!
