British Army, Service Dress uniform is believed to date
somewhere between late W.W.II to the 1954 period
when the crown design imprinted on the buttons changed from a
King's Crown style to the newer Queen's Crown Style.

Uniform is often referred to as being for the "Green Jackets" which were those Infantry regiments in the British Army given "Rifle Regiment" status.
Uniform came with a paper name tag belonging to: "Major H.M.G. Bond", however this uniform has been upgraded to now include the red cloth collarinsignia of a Major General (i.e.: a 2 Star General).
The shoulder epaulettes are of the Rifle Regiment's style and have the metal insignia attached of a Major General.
Sewn to the upper right sleeve is the bullion cloth winged insignia for service as a Paratrooper.
The button motif indicates that this uniform was worn by General Bond while serving in the Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Intfantry Regiment.

Bond has been awarded 6 award ribbons, which are for the following awards:

  • "1939-1945 Star"
  • "Africa Star with "8" for service in the 8th Army"
  • "Italy Star"
  • "War Medal for 1939-1945"
  • "General Service Medal for 1918-1962",

  • and an unknown award ribbon which may be for either of the following 2 awards:

  • "India General Service Medal" or
  • "Title Badge of India, 3rd Class".
