Post WWII Period, Bulgarian Army, RPG-2V Model, 82mm Rocket/Grenade Launcher

RPG-2

Bulgarian Army RPG-2V Details

The Soviets were impressed enough with the WWII period, German Panzerfaust to make a version of their own. The RPG-2 was a later Soviet development of that concept. This weapon is often called a "Rocket" or "Grenade Launcher", and is in the 40mm tube size but firing a 82mm diameter projectile. A great many were produced by the Soviets and other nations like this Bulgarian made example after WWII, but it has now been replaced by more effective weapons. The launcher's projectile weighs 2.7 kg and has a maximum range of 150 metes firing a High Explosive Anti-Tank round. It can penetrate about 180mm of armor. It can only be fired from the right shoulder due to a exhaust port being on the left side. The launcher is known for it's apparent lack of accuracy at it's longer ranges, however it's cheapness to produce meant that would have a long service life.

Comments from the Curator:

In over 50 years of collecting this is the 1st set of RPG-2's that we ever encountered. These were available and we bought all 3. Only 1 is being offered for sale. This launcher is in like-new condition. It has been beautifully de-milled so that it does not show at all! The launcher includes a correct web sling. Also included is a mint condition East German rocket that is inert and nicely marked. This launcher is now a non-weapon, however it is the responsibility of the purchaser to ascertain if they can legally own it or not in their state/county/city-town. All N.F.A. rules apply.
